We gon' party like it's yo birthday

Today we had a (early) party to celebrate Teddy's 1st Birthday, and the theme was "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"; all Teddy's little folk friends were invited.

We made a papier mache version of a caterpillar and hung him in the kitchen, the early morning rain foiled our original plans to hang him outside.

We made a bunch of food, much of which the caterpillar ate little holes through!

We went old school and put up a bunch of photos of Ted's first year on our wall (photos on a real wall, no facebook involved!)

Adults had a cider based punch...

...topped off of, course, with a caterpillar!

Much merriment was had...

...and after singing Happy Birthday Teddy blew out his candle!

...and ate some cake.

Thanks everyone for coming, and for all the wonderful presents.

Bank Holiday in Bermondsey

We spent this Bank Holiday walking along the river in our neighbourhood and going on the swings in the park! Here's some snaps...

Rose and Ted by the river with the Shard, Tower Bridge, and the Walkie Talkie, etc, in the background... Ted is stroking a bronze cat sculpture.

Happy Easter Monday Bank Holiday to you all...

Easter is for Chocolate Eggs!

We've been celebrating Easter with an assortment of chocolate eggs.  Cadbury's are a classic favorite, and Teddy seems interested in them, perhaps more interested in the box than the eggs, but the box is quite fun and colorful.

Teddy and Rose have a cold, so we are recovering over the long holiday weekend.  The weather has been rainy so it is nice to stay indoors and enjoy some chocolate eggs!

Happy Easter everyone, hard to believe that last year I looked like this.
